Measurement of UV disinfection lamps to UV should use a special instrument ----UV irradiator, in the test UV irradiator should be placed horizontally, the detector of the UV irradiator will be placed in a vertical position of one metre from the centre of the lamp, and at the same time shielding stray light. Under UV irradiation, the UV disinfection lamp needs to be turned on for a period of time, and so on after the light source is stable, the measured data is more informative.
Generally speaking, UV irradiator consists of two parts: the measurement display and the detector (i.e. probe). Considering that the detector needs to be placed 1m below the light source vertically during the measurement, there is a small piece of strong magnet inside the irradiator probe, which facilitates the fixing of the detector during the measurement process, and as long as a metal object sucked by the magnet is placed in the corresponding position, the detector can be firmly fixed, and then it is easy to test next.
UV sterilising lamps emit UV is a kind of invisible light, 253.7nm wavelength can be very good bactericidal, this is because the cellular absorption of the spectrum of light waves have a regularity, in the 230 ~ 280nm wavelength, the absorption of the UV is the most, and the absorbed UV is actually acting on the cellular genetic material, i.e., DNA, which acts as a photochemical effect.
Pay attention to personal safety when using UV sterilising lamps: because UV kills cells, so UV sterilisation should be careful not to irradiate human skin directly to avoid injury.
